The Zhiyun Fiveray F100 is a very capable 100W light. It's not only portable with a 30-minute battery life, but you can also use it as a studio light with a built-in AC charger. You can also keep it running on the go with a USB-PD power bank. However, it's not water-proof, so you can't use it outdoors if the weather becomes gloomy.

If you need a primary or secondary light, the F100 is a good choice. It puts out quite a lot of light, a lot more than the excellent Zhiyun Fiveray M40, of course. It comes with barn doors to help you control your light spread. These can be removed if you don't need them. The light also comes with a diffuser and a grid, both of which are installed over the barn doors. The combo version, which I'm testing, also comes with a 120W charger. All of these are tucked nicely into the included carry case, which makes it very convenient for transport.

The F100 has a color temperature range of 2700K to 6200K, which gives you a nice range to play with. Besides white light, the F100 is also capable of RGB colors, allowing you to play with different hues. And because of this you don't need to use the colour gels. All of these are controlled by the buttons located on the handle. The controls include a dial which lets you adjust the brightness, change to colors, or use six built-in special effects. For those planning to make creative videos, these effects are fun — you can simulate lightning, a TV flickering, candles, fire, a faulty bulb, and an SOS signal.

Lighting is excellent, and gives a very nice spread with soft shadows. If you want to soften it further, you can install the included diffuser, or if you want a more controlled spread, the grid. By default, the F100 puts out 50W of power, but you can simply tap the control to switch to 100W mode. This will give you 30 minutes of battery life at most. Fan noise is tolerable — when they kick in to prevent the light from overheating. At the bottom of the light is a 1/4 hole allowing you to mount it onto most tripods.
At S$399 without the charger and S$479 with, the Zhiyun Fiveray F100 is a worthy addition to your photography arsenal. It's versatile, portable, and gives me enough light to work with on the go or in my product shots. The carrying case it comes with is also pretty nice. Lastly, it's super easy to set up, too, compared to my current Godox SL60W light. Get it from Shopee, Lazada, or Amazon.
