I'm usually a bit wary about buying cheap shavers, but the $15 Xiaomi Enchen BlackStone 3D Shaver is pretty much a good buy. Sporting a 3D steel head and powered by a 600mAh battery, this lightweight shaver gets your chin clean and smooth easily.
Quick specs
- 5W motor
- 90 minutes battery life
- 3 rotary blades
Coming from Xiaomi's ecosystem of products, the Enchen BlackStone 3D Shaver surprisingly doesn't have any smart features, but it's not really needed. Instead of a custom power adaptor, the shaver uses a USB Type-C port. This means you don't need to bring along another charger the next time you take this on a trip. The shaver is also IPX7 water-resistant — which means you can rinse it while using it. You shouldn't soak it in water though.
Performance wise, the 5W motor seems a tad weak. It didn't rumble strongly compared with my Braun 340s, but it gets the job done. You're able to get 90 minutes of use on a full 60-minute charge. I have yet to recharge since my first time of using it. The plasticky build is light in the hands and does feel cheap though.
Besides the 3D heads, the shaver also features a hair trimmer that pops up from the side. The position may look odd, but it does make sense when you're trimming your sideburns. It actually holds up well, and I was quite satisfied with the performance.
The Xiaomi Enchen BlackStone 3D Shaver comes with a cover cap, a brush and a USB Type-C cable. There's no charger, but you can use any smartphone charger to do so. The shaver is available on your usual e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada. While you're at it, you should grab some clipper oil to keep your foils lubricated.
