Having tried plenty of masks during the pandemic, the Under Armour SportsMask Featherweight is probably one of the most comfortable ones I've tried. It even beats out the Uniqlo AIRism Face Mask. That's because the mask design features a molded part to keep it from touching your mouth. And if you're gonna exercise in this (though you don't need to with Singapore's laws), you'll be happy to know you can breathe pretty easily.
Quick specs
- Materials used are 100% nylon (outer layer), 100% polyurethane (insert), interior/ear loops are 77% nylon/23% spandex
- Meant for daily wear and exercise
- Built-in UPF 50+ sun protection
My first impression was that the SportsMask looks similar to a bra (heck, even my wife thought so). The mask is made from three different materials. The outside uses breathable knit fabric, while the interior has open-cell foam to let air in while trapping moisture and sweat inside. The straps use UA's stretchy Iso-chill material, and remain really cool on your ears and skin. You also don't have to worry about the mask slipping downwards. In the molded area over the mouth, there's a suede-like fabric to keep it from sliding down your nose.

When I tested the mask in a 20-minute walk in the hot sun, I did not feel like I was short of breath and the air volume was more than sufficient. I was frankly quite amazed at how cool it felt, though I could still feel sweat dripping. The SportsMask seemed like it wicked the sweat away (or at least appeared to feel like it did). At times, I didn't feel like I was wearing a mask at all even while walking in the hot sun. It's a different feeling from the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, which blew cool air into the mask.

I did not test this mask while running, since you can be maskless while exercising (in Singapore). Washing is simple, just rinse it under cold water. It's also machine washable. UA doesn't state how many wash cycles it can go through, so you'll probably use this until it falls apart, I guess. The masks comes in five sizes for the right fit.
The Under Armour SportsMask Featherweight is really worth the S$29 it costs. I'm a big fan after having tried it. I much prefer it over the DET30 masks, too. Get it from the official UA online store or from unofficial third-party retailers Shopee or Lazada. It's also available at all UA outlets.
