Torras Coolify 2S review: Longer runtime

In Singapore's hot sweaty weather, the Torras Coolify 2S is fantastic. It actively cools the skin on your neck while pumping out air to cool the sides of your face. Better yet, it has more than double the battery life of the Coolify 2, with 3.5 hours of runtime.

The Coolify 2S looks exactly like the Coolify 2. In fact, it's hard to tell the two apart as you can see below. It has the same dual Peltier cooling panels at the sides, with the power and mode buttons on the same sides. When you turn it on, the cooling panels immediately start working to cool the skin down. It's not an uncomfortable feeling — quite refreshing, in fact.

The cooler has three settings and three speed modes. There's a fan mode with the cooling panels off, a heating mode, and the normal cool mode. It's pretty simple to toggle between the modes, and there's an display on the right side next to the power button that shows the amount of power left. As mentioned, battery life is even better than before, with almost up to 3.5 hours at max fan speed and cooling on. Torras rates it at 28 hours, but this is with the cooling mode off and the lowest fan speed.

Cooling performance is definitely similar to the Coolify 2. I felt cool immediately after putting it on. On hot days it definitely helps, though it won't do much for perspiration. At the maximum speed, the fans can be rather loud, and may prevent you from hearing softer ambient noise. If you have a fat neck like me, it will feel slightly tight, but it is adjustable such that it doesn't feel constricting. The heating function is also neat to have, and I'm looking forward to using it when I'm on holiday at the end of the year in colder places such as Japan.

At S$279, the Torras Coolify 2 is a good, but slightly pricey hack for our increasingly hot weather. While it won't keep your whole body cool, it will at least help give you some relief for your head. And it will also work great for when you travel to cold places.
