The Torras Coolify 2 makes real improvements to the design of its predecessor. I'll be honest, I did not like first version of the Coolify. But the new one moves the cooling plate to the sides, adds a display, and can also heat your neck. Say what?
- One size fits all
- 4,000mAh battery
- Three modes: Cold, fan, and heat
Like the original version, the Coolify 2 wraps around your neck, with fans to blow cool air upwards. Unlike the first version where the Peltier cooler rests at the back of your neck, the new version has them at the sides. The cooling panels are also a lot longer, so more of them remain in contact with your skin. Cooling also begins pretty quickly, almost immediately. Fans blow air upwards to your face, too. The container it comes in also now serves as a carrying case.
The controls for the Coolify 2 are pretty simple. There are two buttons on the cooler. The power button on the right switches between speeds, and a long press turns it off. The mode button on the left side switches between cold and fan mode with a single push. A long press will switch it to output heat instead. If you're not sure what mode you're in, just look at the display, which also shows the battery life. Battery life is good, lasting 1hr 34min at full fan power in cooling mode.
Unlike the first version, I actually felt cooler while using it. I was perspiring quite heavily and put on the Coolify 2. I did feel cooler immediately, and after a while I stopped sweating on my head. The fastest speed mode pumps quite a lot of air and does sound a bit loud, but you can still hear clearly. From the neck down, you'll still feel hot though. The heating mode is pretty warm, and feels perfect for when you're visiting say, Japan, in winter.
