Secretlab Professional Footrest review: Feet comfort

Secretlab Professional Footrest

Unlike the plush Secretlab Premium Footrest, the Secretlab Professional Footrest is a different beast altogether. It features either an adjustable or a fixed position, as well as Secretlab's Cloudswap, which lets you swap to a different type of mat. You can also opt for a heated mat, or add on extensions to increase the height.

Quick specs

  • Dimensions: 554mm (L) x 344mm (W) x 109mm (H)
  • Modes: Stationary or Dynamic, with angles from +15° to -15°
  • PlushCell Memory Foam mat is swappable
  • Works with all Secretlab chairs

While the Premium Footrest is more of a cushion (and a pretty comfortable one I might add), the Secretlab Professional Footrest is like a stand with an adjustable pedal that you can activate with your foot. You can angle it from +15° to -15°. It's placed on the other end so you don't accidentally hit it. When you press down on it, you can use your other foot to adjust the footrest to your preferred angle. I mostly left it flat, but it was nice to angle it up to keep my foot slightly tilted upwards at times.

By default, the Secretlab Professional Footrest comes in Stationary mode, which as mentioned above, requires your foot to toggle the angle. You can also switch it to Dynamic Mode, which you activate by pushing the pedal down fully and then toggling a switch located below the pedal. In this mode you can easily swivel the footrest up and down. I didn't quite like this mode, because I prefer the footrest to be stable. But with Dynamic Mode, you can do foot exercises like ankle pumps. Alternatively, in Stationary Mode, you can do foot stretches by pushing against the firm surface.

I like the feel of my feet on the default PlushCell Memory Foam mat. The velour surface is nice, smooth, and comfortable. While I like the padding on the Premium Footrest, there's a silky feel about the PlushCell Memory Foam mat that makes my feet happy. Cleaning it is simple, you just need to wipe it down with a damp cloth. Lastly, the Secretlab Professional Footrest is compact enough to fit under my Omnidesk Classic table easily. You will need to give some space at the front if you want to swivel the footrest to face forward.

At S$249, the Secretlab Professional Footrest is a bit expensive. But you're paying for the great build quality and how it feels on your feet. Get it from Secretlab.
