Realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush review: Fuss-free brushing

realme m1 sonic electric toothbrush

The realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush makes cleaning all your teeth easy, thanks to its powerful motor that vibrates as fast as 34,000 times a minute. It features four speed modes, IPX7 water resistance, and comes with two different brush heads right out of the box. It will get your teeth clean, but it doesn't come with any smart features (not that it needs any).

Quick specs

  • 800mAh battery, 90 days rated
  • Friction coating for grip
  • Motor rated for 300 hours

One thing I like about the realme electric toothbrush is the premium feel of the plastic. The soft-touch plastic was comfortable to grip, and I could still easily hold it even when covered with toothpaste foam. There's only one button on the realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush. Press it to toggle between the four modes: Soft, clean, white, and polish. White is the strongest, while polish alternates the vibration to help polish your teeth. However, I did not notice any significant difference in the look of my teeth after using the polish setting.

As long as you use a mode for more than eight seconds, the realme toothbrush will remember that mode to start the next time you turn it on. I'm glad to not have to toggle between modes every time I turn it on. The toothbrush will also pause briefly every 30 seconds to remind you to change sides, and automatically stops after two minutes of use.

Included in the box are two brush heads — regular and sensitive. I used the sensitive head since my gums can be quite tender. The regular head feels a bit harder to me, and it comes with a blue-coloured indicator to tell you when to change it. The bristles are from Dupont and has 99.99% antibacterial properties. Battery life is rated at 90 days. The charging base is flat without a point, and the electric toothbrush design doesn't feature a hole at the bottom unlike my Xiaomi Electric Toothbrush. That's great because mold can get in the hole and grow in our humid weather.

If you don't yet have an electric toothbrush, the realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush is a great starting point. It has no smart features and doesn't log your brushing like Xiaomi's version. The realme toothbrush is strong and powerful, has thoughtful design features such as a 30 seconds reminder. It's available in two colors and sold on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada from S$47.
