CAN BUY...BUT

If you're looking for a gaming mousepad with RGB lighting, you can't go wrong with the Razer Firefly V2 Pro. This gaming mousepad is supposed to be backlit in all colours, but some of the colours don't show up well in a brightly-lit environment. At night or in a dark room, though, your Razer Firefly V2 Pro will shine with gloriousness.

The Razer Firefly V2 Pro comes with 15 RGB lighting zones you can customise with the Razer Synapse 3 app. So you can technically have each of the 15 zones displaying a different colour and effect. However, most of the time I prefer to just go with a static colour at 100% brightness because that really stands out.

Quick specs

  • Dimensions: 278mm x 360mm
  • Surface: Micro-textured, full backlit illuminated
  • Integrated 2.0 port, detachable USB-C cable

Performance-wise, the Razer Firefly V2 Pro is perfect for quick swipes, thanks to its ample space. The plastic material has a nice texture to it, while still feeling super smooth for my Razer Viper V3 Pro gaming mouse. The lighting is even all around, though as mentioned earlier, certain colours don't stand out in the day when it's bright. The mousepad supports in-game effects through Chroma Connect, too.

Note that you'll need to plug this mousepad into your PC to get the RGB lights. Of course, you can use it without the RGB, but where's the fun in that? The Razer Firefly V2 Pro has a USB-A port where you can connect another USB device, such as a mouse dongle. I used it to connect the HyperSpeed dongle of the Razer Viper V3 Pro, and it worked fine with no issues.

The one thing I don't like though, is just how much space it takes up on my work table. It's honestly quite big (for the swiping), but quite rigid in where you can put it. But if you have plenty of space for it, this mousepad works, it's just not ideal for my current setup.

At S$159, it's pretty expensive price for a mousepad. But the Razer Firefly V2 Pro is a RGB mousepad with customisable lights, after all. I'm still unsure that I need it, even after almost a month of use. But I must say it's really nice to shoot product pictures on it thanks to its brilliant lighting. Get it from Razer, Lazada, or Shopee.
