I've tried plenty of pet brushes, from cheap to expensive ones. They all work to varying degrees, but none as good as the Petkit Large Grooming Brush. Its metal bristles easily catch loose fur, but aren't too sharp or rigid to hurt. As a bonus, my cats love the brush, too.
Quick specs
- 190 x 85 x 62mm
- Push-to-release button
- Rounded metal tines protect pet’s sensitive skin
Made of plastic, the brush features a stylistic hollow center. It looks good, and also makes it easy to hang. It's also slightly angled for a better reach. At the end is a bright orange button sporting the Petkit logo, which you can push down to release collected fur.

On the brush side of things, the metal bristles are covered with a plastic tip. This ensures that it doesn't irritate the skin unlike with other brushes. It's comfortable enough you can use it on your own skin if you want. That already makes it better than other brushes, which can feel painfully prickly.

My cats seem to love the brush a lot, and it does a great job of picking out loose fur. What it doesn't do well is to snag fur that's already possibly coming loose. That's usually a job I leave for the Furminator brush instead, which feels more aggressive. The brush works great on my long-hair cats, and should also be fine for short-hair breeds. It also doubles up as a chin scratch device — my cats just love brushing their cheeks against the bristles.
Retailing for as low as S$14 on e-commerce retail sites and around US$16 on the official site, the Petkit Large Grooming Brush is a great tool in your fur management arsenal. It also stands out with its pretty design. Get it from Lazada, Shopee, or Amazon.
