Nitetronic Z6 Smart Anti-Snore Pillow review: Reduced snoring

Nitetronic Z1

I snore a lot. I know because I have recorded myself, and my wife lets me know. So the Nitetronic Z6 Smart Anti-Snore Pillow should hopefully help reduce the intensity of my snoring. It won't help with severe sleep apnea (that's when your breathing stops, and starts), as it's just for snores.

Quick specs

  • Size: 24 x 16 x 5 inches
  • Memory foam and cotton
  • Air chambers, snore sensor, app support

To reduce snoring, the Z6 pillow inflates to gently move your head while you sleep. The logic here is that this helps to shift the bits in your throat and mouth to increase airflow. The pillow has six air chambers, a head position sensor, and a snore detector. These are all built into the pillow, which connects via a braided wire to an external unit that powers it. The pillow is firm, which is how I like it. It comes with two inserts to adjust the height. Nitetronic does not recommend putting stuff on top of the Z6.

When the pillow is activated, it will very gently inflate to move your head if it detects you snoring. I tested this by pretending to snore. I could feel my head shifting as the pillow inflates to reduce my snoring. It also works quietly. During my two-week test of the pillow, it didn't wake me up at all, and I felt refreshed in the morning. You can also adjust the level of how much it corrects to your level of comfort. I set mine for max after trying the default and didn't notice a difference while I slept.

According to the Nitetronic Nitelink2 app (for iOS and Android), the intensity of my snoring dropped by 27%. I also tried recording myself at night to see if there's a difference in the volume of my snores with, and without the pillow. And it seems like the pillow helped. My wife said I still snored, but not as loud as before. Nitetronic also says they have conducted a clinical study that proves the effectiveness of its pillow.

At US$499 (~S$685), the Nitetronic Z6 Smart Anti-Snore Pillow is expensive. But honestly, it works, and while you'll probably continue to snore, it will be somewhat quieter, at least. Get it directly from Nitetronic.
