If you love keeping your stuff labelled, the Niimbot D101 Inkless Label Printer makes this easy to do. This compact printer zips out whatever you tell it to in less than a second, and can print a variety of stuff, including QR codes and more. Some features, however, are locked behind a subscription.
Quick specs
- 230dpi
- 10mm to 25mm printer width
- USB Type-C charging, 1,500mAh battery
- 130 x 79 x 45mm
Setting up this printer is really easy. It comes with a free roll of tape, which you can just insert into the printer. You will need to download the Niimbot app, power on the printer by holding down on the button, and connect it to your phone. You can also watch a video to see how it works, but it's really quite simple.

When using the app, you can start adding text, barcodes, QR codes, images, and more. However, there are some limitations — there are only a small number of free fonts, if you want better ones, you need to pay for the VIP service. This costs US$94 a year, or US$9.48 a month (more expensive). You will get access to templates, more fonts, and the ability to do optical character recognition up to 50 times a day.

Honestly, you don't need the VIP service if you're just printing labels for containers, and files. Since it uses thermal printing, you never need to refill the ink. Prints also come out pretty fast too — almost instantaneously. You can use up to 25mm wide label paper, and print in either black or red. If it's wider than 15mm you need to remove the separator. Refills are cheap, starting from S$6.50.
At S$42, the Niimbot D101 Inkless Label Printer is easy enough to use. I like that it's fast and snappy. Get it from Shopee, Lazada, or Amazon.
