If you're in the mood for a steamboat feast, the MToy Electric Lifting Hot Pot is great to have. It features an automatic sieving tray that helps you separate your food from the soup base. This makes it easy to eat every last morsel without having to dig around in your soup. It's also easier to clean as well. The pot uses 304 Stainless Steel, and the manufacturer claims it is food-grade safe.
Quick specs
- 4L capacity
- 300~1500W power controls
- Food grade 304 Stainless Steel
The 4L pot is spacious, and comes in two parts — the pot and the heating base. It's big enough for one to six eaters. You can wash the pot separately, but you still have to be careful as the bottom of the pot section contains electronic components and should not be exposed to water. However, cleaning it by rinsing is easy since you don't have to deal with food bits. In the middle of the pot is the lifting mechanism, which pushes the sieving tray up for you to pick at your cooked food.
If there's one thing you need to know, is that you will need quite a bit more of the soup base as the water level needs to be above the sieving tray. Otherwise, your ingredients will not be cooked once the tray goes down. Aside from that, it's a simple and effective design that I really like. You can leave the sieve up for the food to cool down as well.
Controlling the MToy pot is simple. The menu buttons are in Mandarin, but you can take a reasonable guess using Google Translate. One button controls the power, another turns on the hot pot function, one more button lets you switch between five power settings, and two individual buttons control the up and down of the tray. There's also a rice cooking button that claims to “de-sugar” it to make it healthier. I did not test this as I don't cook rice that much.
The MToy Electric Lifting Hot Pot is an amazing cooking pot for steamboat parties. At S$88, it's a great buy to impress your friends and family. It's available on Shopee and Lazada e-commerce platforms, but it's twice the price on Lazada compared to Shopee.
