If a solid dependable workhorse mouse is what you need, the Logitech Signature M650 L is a good option. While not as premium as the the Logitech MX Master 3, it's a lot more affordable at just S$49.
- 101.2g (M650), 111.2g (M650 L)
- 400 dpi
- 5 buttons
- 1x AA battery (included)
While not as light as the Logitech G Pro X Superlight, the M650 L weighs the same as the Razer Pro Click Mini, despite being much larger. There's a nice heft to it that I wasn't quite used to when I first switched. However, it quickly became comfortable. Sadly, there's no way to adjust the DPI, so you're stuck with just using software to adjust the pointer speed. It's actually not ideal, in my opinion. I found myself having to move the mouse a lot more between my three screens. Increasing the speed only made things feel jumpy. Clicks are super quiet, making it perfect for the office.
Despite being a S$50 mouse, it comes with Logitech Options+ support, allowing you to configure the buttons. However, you still can't change the DPI. All of the buttons are changeable. That means you can enlarge your brush size in Adobe Photoshop, or zoom in and out of your timeline in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. There are a bunch of options you can choose to assign as well, such as Brush Opacity. I mostly just changed the side buttons, though.
The scroll wheel isn't as nice as the one on the MX Master 3, but it's good enough for precise scrolling. A quick flick gets you quickly to the end of a page. You can connect the mouse with Bluetooth, or the Logitech Bolt receiver. Unlike more expensive mice, the M650 L only stores one Bluetooth profile. But you can connect to two devices by using the dongle. Battery life is rated for two years with one AA battery, and in the two weeks I've been testing, it's still at 95% charge.
The Logitech Signature M650 L is quite the perfect mouse for work, especially for its low price. It works with both PC and Mac, too. I like the grip and features, though I'd personally spring for a lighter mouse that I can use for gaming, too. It also comes in a smaller size (M650) for smaller hands. Get it from Shopee, Lazada, or Amazon.
