Logitech Signature K650 review: Fully featured

Logitech Signature K650

As far as membrane keyboards go, the Logitech Signature K650 offers plenty of features to make your office life easier. While the typing experience may not be as great as a mechanical one, the built-in buttons for quick access to the calculator app, or take a screenshot are perfect for work.

Quick specs

  • Full-sized keyboard with membrane keys
  • 2AA batteries, 36 months
  • Bluetooth Low Energy or Logi Bolt USB Reciever

Clad in an off-white colour, the K650 pairs well with the Logitech Signature M650. In fact, you can use both with just one Logi Bolt dongle. Alternatively, you can use the built-in Bluetooth if you lose the dongle, or if you want to use the keyboard with another device. You can also store the dongle in a compartment next to the batteries. The keyboard doesn't appear to support Logitech Flow, so you can't use this keyboard on multiple devices.

As a membrane keyboard, the K650 is springy and quiet. You'll need to fully push down before it registers. It doesn't take that much force, though, when compared to mechanical keyboards with more actuation force. It's pleasant, but I much prefer a mechanical one for a more satisfying experience. There's just something about the feel of a mechanical keyboard — you can't go back once you've used one. I do like the palm rest that comes built-in, it's comfortable and keeps my hands from feeling the strain.

The amount of work-related buttons also make this keyboard stand out. You can switch languages, take screenshots, bring up the emoji button, open your system's settings, calculator, and multitasking tab. These buttons can be customised via the Logi Options+ app that's available for Windows or macOS. The keyboard works for Windows, macOS, Chromebook, Linux, iPadOS, iOS, or Android. Battery life is great, too. Powered by 2x AA batteries, it's supposed to last three years. I've used it for two weeks, and it's still at 100%.

At S$75, the Logitech Signature K650 isn't too expensive to pick up for office use. I'm guessing it's definitely a lot better than what you're probably using right now. If you have the budget, you may want to pick up the mechanical MX keyboard for an even better typing experience. Get the K650 from Shopee or Logitech.
