There’s much to like about the LG CordZero A9K-Ultra vacuum cleaner. The Ultra set comes with pretty much everything you need — including a mop head — and sucks dust relatively quietly. Battery life is also excellent, with close to 60 minutes of use per battery — and it comes with two.
Quick specs
- 0.44L bin
- 3 modes: normal, power, and turbo
- 2.7kg with multi-surface attachment
- 200W suction power
Let’s talk about my favourite attachment — the Power Drive Mop head. You simply add water to the reservoir without detergent. Then attach the mop heads to the bottom and you can start doing power-assisted mopping right away. Turning the power on spins the mop heads. The mop head is easy to control, too. The other attachments, such as a hard floor head and a brush head, are very similar to what’s already available in the market (such as Dyson’s). The only issue I have though, is that the vacuum feels heavy to hold while moping.

The A9K-Ultra also comes with a pet nozzle and a multi-surface nozzle, as well as a crevice tool and a hard dirt tool. One cool feature I liked about the LG cleaner is the extendable pipe. You can simply lengthen it to match your preferred height. The default length is a bit too short for me. Emptying the bin is a simple affair. Pushing down the big red button compresses and compacts the dirt. Then open the bin and dump your rubbish. The mesh inside the bin, as well as a HEPA filter, are washable.

Battery life is advertised at 60 minutes per battery. But this is without the powered attachments, and depends on your cleaning speed setting. There are three speed modes (including turbo), but the resulting noise doesn’t increase that much, even at turbo. After about 20 minutes of use at the first normal setting, the A9K was still going strong. Turbo will drain your battery in less than six minutes with the powered multi-surface head. While there’s a battery indicator on the vacuum, you can also enable the cleaner’s Wi-Fi and connect it to your home network. This allows you to use the ThinQ app to check on your usage, cleaning frequency, and get filter cleaning alarms. I honestly didn't find the smart features useful, but your mileage may vary.
At S$1,099, the LG CordZero A9K-Ultra is competitively priced. You're getting a full suite of tools. There are also cheaper bundles such as the S$799 Core (multi-floor ) or S$899 Pro (mop and multi-floor). The Core comes with two batteries, while the Pro has one. The Ultra bundle has two batteries and an extra attachment. Get it from Shopee or Lazada.
