The Belkin Connect USB-C 7-in-1 Multiport Hub Adapter is a great companion for your computer. It adds multiple ports and connectors, some of which are omitted in the latest mobile devices, and is a portable, lightweight accessory that you can easily carry from one workplace to another.

Arguably the key feature of any hub is whether it supports pass-through charging. After all, you're losing a USB-C port on your device while using this hub. I'm glad to report that the Belkin has a USB Power Delivery 3.0 port that offers up to 100W pass-through charging. Note that Belkin says the hub itself uses 15W of power, so it's effectively 85W of charging. This should suffice for most laptops, though some, like the MacBook Pro (2021), can tap higher-wattage adapters.
The Belkin is especially handy for photographers, since memory cards, which are still a mainstay in digital cameras, are an afterthought on most modern computers. You'll probably need an external card reader, so why not buy a hub like the Belkin? You get a choice of microSD and SD (both up to 832Mbps speed). The Belkin's HDMI 1.4 port can do up to 4K at 30fps, which is adequate for most non-gaming laptops. I tested the USB-C and USB-A ports with an external solid-state drive. The file transfer speeds with the Belkin hub were identical to the laptop's native USB ports.
Having a 3.5mm audio jack doesn't seem like a big deal if you're connecting the Belkin to a laptop. But with mobile devices increasingly ditching this port — I'm looking at you Apple, and your new iPad (2022) — it's useful, particularly if you've forgotten to charge your wireless headphones. The Belkin is lightweight (76g), and its aluminium finish, and solid build make for an attractive-looking accessory that won't look out of place next to your premium notebook.
